About the Journal

The African Journal of Education, Science and Technology (AJEST), was developed to publish papers that have been presented during international conferences between participating universities as well as other scholarly papers contributed by others. The University of Eldoret (UOE), Kenya and Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) formerly Anambra State University, Nigeria formed the initial partnership that participated in the First International Interdisciplinary Conference which was held at the University of Eldoret in September, 2013. The Second Conference was held at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Uli, Nigeria in September 2015. Since the first Conference held at UOE in September 2013 two other institutions have joined the consortium, the Kyambogo University (KyU), Uganda and Mount Kenya University (MKU), Kenya. The third international conference was held at the UOE in September 2016 the fourth at the KyU in Kampala Uganda in August 2017, the fifth at MKU Thika in October, 2018 and the sixth was held at UoE in Eldoret in September 2019.  The proposed seventh conference at the KyU has been postponed from September 2020 to the same time period in 2021.  These conferences have continued to attract many scholars from the participating institutions and beyond, which in turn has kept the material published in AJEST fresh, relevant and interesting to readers.

AJEST contains papers presented during the fifth international conference as well as others submitted by our readers. All the papers have been peer-reviewed through a double blind process by experts in the respective fields. The upsurge of interest among researchers, scholars, and professionals for the growth of research in Africa toward policy and practice in education, science and technology, are clearly demonstrated in AJEST.

The Journal contains  papers selected from a wide array of fields with an attempt to include authors from different nationalities and institutions. The fields covered include: nutrition, agriculture, literature, chemistry, biology, teaching and learning, entrepreneurship and business, food science, finance, environment, gender, technical vocational education and training, among other.  They highlight research that has been carried out in these fields with results that can be very beneficial to the community at large.
